It's great to see an old standby from my days in Dallas. As I remember Dickey's in Dallas (it was for many years a fairly small, local chain), it was always reliable, if unspectacular, BBQ. That's in a city where you can't seem to swing a dead cat without hitting a legendary BBQ joint. But since Dickey's has apparently gone national (why else would there be one in Cedar City?), they've upped their game considerably. This particular outpost just opened up earlier this summer, and it's very, very good Q. Brisket is better than Sonny Boy's (seems only Texas joints know how to do this right), and pulled pork is just as good. Other meats and sausage great as well. And the sides! Besides the requisite potato salad, beans and cole slaw, there's great fried okra, terrific fried onion "tanglers", even a caesar salad that's not bad, and more. Plus free soft serve vanilla ice cream for dessert As a bonus, it's open on Sundays, unlike most places in this part of the country.

We visited the store in Cedar City for lunch because of the good yelp rating. Our family was not disappointed. We ordered the picnic pack for our family of 5 and it was enough. The meat was flavorful and tender. The biscuits were warm and not too sweet. The sides (fried ocra and waffle fries) were made to order - tasty & crispy. In addition there is a soft serve machine for ice cream that is complimentary to all guests - what a bonus! All around good, if there were a store like this in SoCal, they would kill it!

We loved how handy this restaurant was to our hotel. After a long day of driving it was very nice to just be able to walk across the parking lot and have a really good meal. The day we were there was July 24, which, if you don't know, is a very busy state holiday in Utah. While the restaurant was busy with lots of take-out the servers took their time and explained the menu to us newbies. We appreciated that. Our food was delicious. At the utensil and drink counter they have barbecue sauces to choose from to match your taste. They also have free soft serve ice cream cones to finish up your meal.

Food was good and service quick! Brisket was especially tasty! There is outside seating to bring your dog. Yelp stated they serve beer and wine, but the beer selection was not what was posted on menu. They were out of most beer and they did not have any wine which was a bit disappointing. I settled for iced tea and that was freshly brewed.

Good food, but definitely not cheap. A plate of 6 ribs, 2 small sides and 2 small drinks for $21. That is ridiculous. You get more food at BBQ places in LA for less money.

Meats are slow cooked on site daily. Bread was also super fresh. BBQ sauce was wonderful. Fresh brewed ice tea and super friendly staff. The meal couldn't have been better. This is my new go to spot between SLC and LA.

While this place is cheaper than other places, you get what you pay for. Not super impressed with the meats, sides aren't bad, but nothing impressive.

Great food, we love the westerner sandwich with everything on it. My kids love the turkey, brisket, max and cheese and the baked potatoe casseroles and french fries of course. Always fresh

Excellent BBQ. 3 sauces, spicy, original and sweet... All of which are really great. Friendly staff, and FREE ice cream!

Good place to eat in cooler weather, when the flies aren't so prevalent. Get an agreed upon price before ordering, they send out BOGO mailings but don't like to honor them. The food was good, but not up to the price. Chuck N.

Friendly staff, great barbecue (ribs, beef brisket and Light spicy Sausage was our choice! This is a must go place! You will not regret! If you are a skier, talk to the owner (River). He will share some insights to the ski areas! I loved this place!

Iv'e been hearing about Dickeys for while now, apparently its a Dallas Chain. I'm always skeptical about Chain barbecue places, I never usually have great Barbecue at them. So I decided to pop into this Dickeys today after a couple hours on the road. So you walk in and the smell hits ya, and it smells good! order food from the first guy who was pretty cheerful and friendly, got me a two meat plate brisket and puled pork, Some sides, Mac and Cheese and Mashed Potatoes. So the Meat, It was done right! Brisket was tender, it was seasoned great and it was delicious. Pulled pork was also the same, tender seasoned well and it had a nice smoke flavor to it. Mac and Cheese might be the best Ive ever had, But I like really creamy Mac. Mash Potatoes were loaded and had a great taste. I want to meet the pit master because he is doing a great job, staff was also nice and Ill be back. I hope the rest of the Dickeys are as great as this one.

We just got into town from So. California and stopped in at 850 not used to the time change we felt bad coming in at closing. We stuck our head in to see if they were closing and although they were the two gals at the counter said no, please come in. We wanted to be quick so we asked for their recommendation for our family of 5. She ordered us the family pack and everything on it was to die!!!! Amazing food, amazing service! 5 stars for sure!!!! Thank you Dickeys BBQ

Had the westerner with brisket and pork. Sides are great, though I wish their tater salad had bacon in it. The lady that helped us was really nice and friendly. Wish I had caught her name. We had this chain back in Tennessee and its nice that we got one in our new town.

My bf and I went to Dickey's for lunch and were disappointed. We didn't realize that Dickey's is a chain, but it is and it shows -- the sides are made at corporate so the staff doesn't seem to know the ingredients (I'm gluten-free per my doctor's orders). The meats are wrapped in plastic and kept warm, they're unwrapped and sliced while you wait. The turkey was flaked and formed as opposed to turkey breast. My sausage was luke warm. The cole slaw was the same kind I remember from eating at KFC. Ugh. This is not "home cookin" it's more of the type of BBQ you'd expect out of a drive through fast food joint. The sweet tea was "authentic" per my southern bf (really, really sweet). The service was friendly enough. The fries were hot and yummy. I debated with my bf about trying the free ice cream, but since I dislike non-dairy, non-milk frozen desserts masquerading as ice cream, I didn't even try it since I had been so disappointed with the rest of the meal. Why eat at Dickey's when you can go to Sonny Boys where the barbequer is smoking out in front, the meat is hot and the Southern BBQ is much more authentic?
